Yield: 2 servings
Ingredients:
2 cups unsweetened almond, flax or coconut milk
½ cup ice (optional, this will make your smoothie thicker)
1 cup frozen berries
2 scoops vanilla flavored protein powder (vegan or whey)
1 Tbsp. chia seeds
1 Tbsp. ground flax seeds
2 Tbsp. avocado, or flax seed oil (or MCT oil)
1 avocado
2 cups spinach leaves
Directions:
Add all the ingredients in the listed order to the blender.
Ensure the lid is on securely!
Pulse a few times then blend (use the smoothie setting if you have one).
Pour half the contents into a glass and place the remainder in a tightly covered glass container in the fridge.
My Notes:
For a different taste try using green tea in place of the milk.
Try using different berries or a mixture of berries for new tastes. Best to use fresh berries when they are in season and less expensive.
Look for organic protein powders that contain a minimum of 17 grams of protein per scoop. Whey (if you can tolerate it) pea, hemp and rice proteins are the best to choose from.
